Sunbeam Tiger

Company Sunbeam among the other was at the beginnings of English car industry. John Marstona's child has begun with manufacture of bicycles and motorcycles in 1888, and later 13 years have prepared the first serial car under mark Sunbeam.

The history of "a solar beam» (English sunbeam) has ended in 1976, and, apparently, forever. How many years have passed, but is at Sunbeam models memory about which should live eternally. Of such by right it is considered one Sunbeam Tiger — a roadster with "compressor" motor V12 4.0 (306 forces), the record which has beaten in 1925 of speed on a 800-metre site: on finish Sunbeam has shown 233 km/h.

And here in honour of bolid-champion Rajan Skelli, the student of faculty of industrial design of university of Coventry, has created concept Sunbeam Tiger. But after all such projects is very big amount, and to be allocated from set of originals, non-standard decisions are necessary. However, they in a double racing car suffice.

For example, how looks a tubular frame from the processed aluminium? And the brake blocks made of fibres of a natural origin? At last, under an upholstery of seats soya foam disappears, the structure of tyres includes corn starch, and body panels are made of pitch and vegetable oil.

The British fan of nature product has managed to cause a stir and in the technical plan. No, the roadster not on beans works, but instead of usual DVS the electromotor is used. What here the unusual? Answer simple: it eats from lithium-titanium accumulators. Such "cocktail" provides concept about 1600 km of a way on one gymnastics.

Whether not too all technologically even for 2009 year? Probably, Rajan Skelli asks the same question. Therefore now Sunbeam exists while only on computer images. And only release of the serial car is planned for century of a high-speed record!
